Ever wanted to try fashion illustration? On 11th March, we're hosting a clothed life drawing evening (with a fashion twist) at The George in Rye. ✏️💃
Our live model will step out in a series of stunning outfits while you pick up a pencil and sketch each pose, guided by one of the most exciting fashion illustrators working today, Connie Lim 🙌
Trained at Central Saint Martins and the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Connie has worked for Chanel, Dior, Miu Miu and Alexander McQueen, features in Taschen's The Illustrator: 100 Best from Around the World, and has shown her work in galleries internationally. This is her first time in Rye, so you really don't want to miss it ✨
Our live model will be styled by Through Your Wardrobe, Kent's leading independent pre-loved fashion retailer. Co-founder Gabby brings over a decade of styling experience to the night and will dress our live model in a series of striking, timeless looks from their gorgeous collection. Together, Gabby and co-founder Charlotte will also share their styling secrets and the story behind Through Your Wardrobe, so as well as leaving with illustrations you love, you'll leave with a head full of style inspiration for next season.
"This evening is not about perfection," says Connie. "It's about slowing down, looking at the world a little differently, and giving yourself permission to try something completely new. I can't wait to see what everyone creates on the night."
Connie will meet us where we are and guide us through at our own pace, whether you're unsure of how to hold a pencil or are a life drawing regular. Everyone works at their own level and leaves with something they love.
Tickets are £60 and include everything: canapés, herbal teas, coffees, all materials and everyone will leave with their own sketchpad ✏️
